Winner of our Competition violinist from Saint-Petersburg Andrey Baranov became the absolute winner of one of the biggest and most prestigious music competitions in the world - the International Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels. In the base of the concert program Baranov are works of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich. In the semi-final and in the final violinist performed the works by Belgian composers, which are the one of the general conditions of the Competition.

Playing the violin Ansaldo Poggi ex-Milstein (1947), Baranov has passed all the competition tours, including a performance with orchestra and chamber concert with the pianist. 12 participants from 88 reached the final of the 75-th anniversary contest. Andrei Baranov won the main prize - money prize in the amount of 25 000 Euro and the Huggins Stradivari violin (1708) with the right of use within a period of three years.

Our laureate Elena Korzhenevich successfully performed accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra Of the Udmurt Republic conducted by Nikolay Rogotnev. In the concert were sounded: Wagner’s Overture to «Tannhäuser», Wolfram’s Romance, Death of Isolde from the opera «Tristan and Isolde», Intermission to the third action from the opera «Lohengrin». In the performance of Elena Korzhenevich sounded Mendelssohn Concerto for Violin with orchestra in E Minor.

On Saturday, October, 15 the recital of Yoojin Hong (South Korea) is going to be held at Rakhmaninov Hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Yoojin is laureate of International Competitions including IV Moscow International David Oistrakh Competition (I prize, 2010). In the concert program – music of J.S.Bach, L.van Beethoven, P.Sarasate, H.Wieniawski.

At the 14th of April, at the music hall "Muziekgebouw Frits Philips Eindhoven" of the Dutch city of Eindhoven, our winner Albrecht Menzel (Germany) gives a solo concert as a winner of EMCY.
This concert takes place within "Lunchpauzeconcert" ("concert at lunchtime") - concerts, which take place every Thursday at 12.30 pm in "Muziekgebouw Frits Philips Eindhoven".
The program of the concert: works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Lutoslawski and Wieniawski for violin and piano.

At the 25th of January our laureate Andrey Baranov performed in Izhevsk on the stage of the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet. He played the Violin Concerto of Jan Sibelius and his performing had a great success.

At the 4th of February our laureate Dmitry Smirnov (the 1th prize, 2006) performed in the Concert Hall of Gnesin Academy with the Moscow Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Honored Artist of Russia Evgeny Bushkov. The Concert Programme included the music of Spanish composers: Joaquín Turina and Manuel de Falla.

At the 28th of November in the French city Vitre (Brittany) a concert inaugurated a new concert hall where Moscow Chamber Orchestra “the Seasons” (Vladislav Bulakhov) performed. Our laureate Aylen Pritchin (the III prize, 2010) was invited to participate in the concert.
The concert program included the music of Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens and French-russian composer Youli Galperine.
French Minister of Culture Frederic Mitteran attended the opening of the new hall.

The First All-Russia Music Competition was completed at the 25th of November in the Concert Hall of Russian Music Gnesin Academy. The Competition was held in 4 disciplines: piano, violin, cello and opera-singing.

Violinists were judged by the most outstanding and professional masters in violin performance art from all over Russia. In the end, the I prize wasn’t awarded to anyone, and II prize award was shared between 2 our winners: Dmitry Smirnov and Pavel Milyukov. They, as laureates, will perform in 10 Russian cities: in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-na-Donu, Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Kislovodsk and Nalchik.

IV Moscow International David Oistrakh Violin Competition ends on October 10, 19PM. The awards ceremony will be held in the Svetlanov Hall of Moscow International Performing Arts Centre. The ceremony will be held in the format of the concert and will become a long-awaited outcome of the exciting competitive marathon. That evening the young violinists will show their art by performing solo performing solo works. The winners in the age category 18-28 years will be accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" (Artistic director and chief conductor Yuri Bashmet).

They will play some works from the repertoire of the final round - virtuoso concerts of Brahms, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Paganini. Opening Ceremony of IV Moscow International David Oistrakh Violin Competition will take place on the birthday of maestro – September 30. The evening will be opened with greetings Chairman of the Jury Igor Oistrakh to participants and jury members of the Competition and drawing. The evening will continue by performance of laureates of David Oistrakh competition and other international competitions Ilian Garnet and Nikita Borisoglebsky. Young musicians will perform solo and with Chamber Orchestra “Moscovia” under conducting by People Artist of USSR Eduard Grach. In the end the orchestra will perform famous overture from Rossini opera “La gazza ladra” (The Thieving Magpie).
